Team description

Tudu Mighty Jets Football Club formed in 1994 by Abubakar Nallah and friends. The club started as a third division club and eventually gained promotion to play in the premiere league of Ghana in 2010, a class the club was only able to maintain for just two seasons. By the beginning of the 2012/2013 season, the club was back to the first division league. The main objective for its formation was to rid off the street, boys from the Tudu Community of Accra and its environs. The club’s training grounds have continuously changed from one pitch to another as the club currently has no pitch of its own. We are therefore left with no option than to rent pitches from time to time to use for the training of its players. The club currently trains at the Military Academy and Training School (MATS) Park under some kind of arrangement with the owners (The Military Academy Training School). The club has its offices in Kotobabi in Accra from where the club is run day to day by a management team which comprises of the following persons: Abubakar Nallah ( club president), Sammy Suka-Braimah ( club chairman), Daniel Larbi Akowuah ( International Relations), James Oyedeji ( General Manager) and Bernard Ofosu ( Club secretary). Other supporting staff are Edward Aning and Hayford Cudjoe who both assist in the daily operations of the management of the club from time to time. Over time, that initial objective for the formation of this club which is eradicating kids from the streets of Tudu and its environ, has been achieved as kids from the community who would otherwise have become street kids have through this club had their football talents nurtured and gone on to become bread winners of their various families. Examples of such are Razak Ibrahim (Member of the 2002 Black Stars team which represented Ghana in the AFCON hosted by Mali), Prince Tagoe (1996 Goal King in the Ghana Premier league), Abdul Razak (Member of Ghana U-17 team which won silver in Egypt 1997), Eric Bekoe( The Goal King of the 2006 Ghana premiership) and Stephen Tetteh ( Member of the 2001 Bronze winning team of the world U-17 tournament in New Zealand). As stated earlier the initial objective was to see the kids off the street through the effort of the Football club and therefore management of the club felt very accomplished when these boys are taken off the street and made to do what they love best which is to play football. It was never seen as a business venture and therefore maximizing profits wasn’t on the agenda of the club. Today that perception is changed. Football is seen as a big business now and like all businesses, it is run to make profits. In that regard, this club now recruits from all over the country Ghana, special football talents , develop them for a year or two and then market them to rich clubs/ big leagues. Example of such category of players are: Kwame Nsor (currently with FC Metz of France Ligue 1), Richard Ofori( currently on the pay roll of Academica de Coimbra of Portugal), Aaron Amoah ( just finished serving his contract with one of the giants of Ghana Football Ashgold and is currently back home and training with the club, Benjamin Tetteh ( Currently a member of the Ghana U-20 whose transfer right has already been bought and just waiting to turn 18yrs and then will follow in the footsteps of those mentioned before him). There are other upcoming players with the club all of whom have exceptional football talents and it is only a matter of time when they will be poached by big clubs to further develop their talents on a bigger platform so as to gain world recognition. These include: Inusah Musah (Central defender), Osman Abdulai (Offensive midfielder), Nicholas Mensah (Central defender), Samuel Kwartei (Striker), Jonathan Saka (Striker), Randy Amoako (left winger), Armstrong Boakye (offensive midfielder), and Ibrahim Ohene Adjei Appiah (offensive midfielder), e.t.c In the future we want to acquire our own training facilities as well as other valuable assets to bring us at par with properly managed football clubs. We can only do that with monies realized from regular sale of our football talents and some sponsorship we will be able to attract through our proper business practice. We also want to frequently have players from our team going on to play for the Black Stars.
